One fateful afternoon, I plopped down on the floor in front of the TV and crossed my legs.  Except they didn't cross.  Everything felt tight and constricted.  My knees were hiked up by my chin.  Where I could once sit with ease, I now felt only discomfort.  How on earth did I get here?

The very next day, I willed myself through the doors of a yoga studio not far from my house.  Surely yoga would help me regain my lost flexibility, I reasoned.  Oh, it did that... plus so much more.  My very first experience on the mat ignited a love affair more powerful than I would have ever thought possible.  Today, I can't think of a single thing I'd rather be doing.

My training includes a 200-hour certification through YogaWorks, followed by their 500-hour Professional Program.  In addition, I am registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 200/RYT 500 level.  Continuing education encompasses a variety of intensive studies all over the world as well as specialty trainings in Yin yoga and the Wanderlust style.  Lastly, I proudly hold over ten years experience as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer.

Perhaps by chance or perhaps by fate, I fell into the practice of Ashtanga yoga fairly early on.  Something about the rigor and repetition of this grueling practice crept into my heart and took hold.  Over time, I have also grown quite fond of the organic and playful nature of Vinyasa Flow.  Not surprisingly then, my signature style incorporates the best of both worlds - challenging practitioners with a powerful yet light-hearted flow.  Whether a complete beginner or a seasoned yogi, participants in my classes will find something to help them go deeper.  Intelligent sequencing, a strong connection to the breath, focus on alignment, soul exploration, and FUN all make for a truly memorable experience on the mat.

Forever a student myself, I wholeheartedly recognize that I would not be where I am today without the guidance and wisdom of my own teachers.  So it is with extreme gratitude and the utmost respect that I recognize those whom have had the most profound impact on my journey.  In no particular order, they are: Kino MacGregor, Seane Corn, David Swenson, Dani Ibarra, Ashley Rideaux, Jason Crandell, and Maria Zavala.  In addition, I wish to thank the yogis who show up in my classes each and every week.  You know who you are.  Your tireless effort and unwavering dedication teach me more than I could ever hope to impart in return.
